It's a life goal of mine to become home cook extraordinare. Seeing how I'm no where close to being able to call myself an extraordinary home cook, I like to practice. This weekend, I attempted to make homemade, restaurant style salsa. I was following a recipe posted at www.thePioneerWoman.com and couldn't have been more excited to try it.
Everything was going well until I was about halfway done pulsing the mixture in the food processor. Suddenly there was a loud, terrible noise. It was as if I was grinding metal. Kris noticed that I had more liquid in the processor than the machine could handle. I was happy for the reminder since we'll soon be using the processor a great deal as we start to make baby food. We went on with our merry way. Kris tasted the salsa and liked it; feeling quite proud, I began to pour the salsa into the container. Unfortunately, I found this a second later:
Oh no! The salsa sure looks yummy though!
ReplyDeleteLol. Is that the lid of a can? You can chalk it up as "the secret ingredient" :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Amber!!! I'm so sorry... but man, that salsa looks YUMMY! :)
ReplyDeleteNice! Can you claim baby brain still? :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny. What is that thing?? It looks good regardless. My family was just talking about finding foreign objects in food this weekend. A friend of ours at Intel found a metal letter "G" in her soup at Emperor's Garden in Folsom.
ReplyDeleteIs that a can lid? Wow. But I agree, it does look good!
ReplyDeleteYup - can you believe it...it was the can lid!! I like Elizabeth's idea, we'll blame it on mommy brain!
