Owen's 1st School Performance

Owen's daycare put on a Spring Gala last week where each class sang a song and performed on stage for family and friends. Maybe calling it a performance is a bit of a stretch, but Owen and his classmates did learn two songs and they did stand on a stage and sing and dance to parts of it. Some of them also cried for parts of it (or most of it like Owen) and some of them also stood staring at their teachers and the crowd. The kids dressed up as pirates and sang about slippery fish and a pirate counting song.

The entire event was a bit chaotic. More people attended than they expected and it was fairly unorganized because of a last minute directive from the corporate office, but the kids had a great time playing in the lobby and in the classroom before they were called to the stage and they especially loved the bounce house and playground time afterwards. All in all the night was a great success- especially since it was the first-ever live school play put on at this center. It was definitely a special night- filled with many very cute moments.

A few pictures of Owen playing before he and his classmates hit the stage:

Here is a short clip of the video-

And the winner is...

A few posts back, I shared some photos of the boys that my brother-n-law, Ryan, shot. His instructor liked one of the photos he used so much (above) that he suggested that Ryan enter one of the school's photo contests. We just found out that he won. Congrats Ryan!

Wiseley Boys @ ~5 weeks

We're corny. We decided to try to replicate one of Owen's photo shoots with Tucker at the same age in the same clothes. Because they are different kids and because Owen was involved in Tucker's photo shoot, we didn't get exact photo matches. Some of the more similar shots come when they are wearing different outfits, but I still think it is fun comparison. Both times we did this with Kris' parents and most photos were taken by Granddaddy. Of course the boys aren't identical, but I think you may get a kick out of how similar they look- I know we sure do.

Tucker's Announcement Photo

Tucker just turned 3 months. I have been feeling guilty because I never mailed out a birth announcement for Tucker. And now that we're heading towards his fourth month, I'm not going to, but this is the photo I would have chosen had I been on top of it. We took the photo the day before his 1 month birthday. I just love it. I have already printed it out, so at least he'll have this photo in his baby book (which I also haven't started). Geez.

I would have also included a photo of both boys together. This is another favorite- even though Owen's diaper is showing:

Ryan's Photo Shoot- March 2010

We spent a week down in OC in late March to visit with family. We had a wonderful time. I will try to post a blog about the trip, but until then...

Ryan, my bro-n-law, graciously agreed to a photo shoot. Luckily for me, his assignment for the next week was a portrait - so he was more than happy to head over to the park to snap away. I really wanted to try to get a great picture of both the boys together. It was a great shoot - despite issue #1- Owen only wanted to play on the playground and issue #2 - I completely forgot about the photo shoot possibility when I packed the boys clothes so we were without great clothing options for Owen. We had Owen wear one of his shirts backwards so that the picture wouldn't distract from the photo, but you'll see this didn't really work. Next time I head home, I will definitely plan better. Ryan is fantastic. There are so many amazing shots, but I'll just post a few of my favorites:

And the photo shoot continued when we were back at Grandma's and Grandpa's house: Dylan - just about 7 months kissing his baby cousin Tucker:

Age update: Tucker's 8 1/2 weeks old, Dylan's just shy of 7 months, and Owen's 2 1/2 (and a few weeks).

Tucker's 3 Months

Tucker is 3 months old! He's so wonderful... cooing, laughing, smiling.....just perfect.

This morning, Tucker and I were still laying in bed, cuddling. Tucker was sleeping and I was enjoying watching him sleep. Owen wanted to see us, so he came upstairs and climbed into bed to join us. He immediately began to pat Tucker and then kissed Tucker ever so softly on his head, saying, "i love you, Tucker". He repeated this 3 or 4 times and then leaned over for a kiss from Mommy. I'm not sure there is a more perfect way to wake up on a Sunday morning.
